- Modern versions of this tune often use all quarter notes in measures 2 and 10 instead of the dotted rhythm. I'm unsure where this originated. All early sources I found use the dotted rhythm. If you prefer, you may use three quarter notes in these measures instead of the written values.
- Away in a Manger is often incorrectly attributed to Martin Luther.
